Today marks our one year anniversary of communicating medically relevant topics online. It first started on 2/1/11 with our practice Facebook page, and then last April we added a blog. Our goal was not to toot our own horn, but to provide reliable medical information in an easy to understand way that could be used by the general public. And its been quite the ride. We have grown to 129 likes on Facebook, and have had over 2,500 page views on our blogsite, not just in the United States, but worldwide. And we plan to continue expanding our article library, trying to cover as many relevant health care topics as possible.
We don’t pretend that every medical problem can be solved by online research. Many diagnoses and treatments are best obtained through examination by a health care practitioner, and our office stands ready to provide the best, most cost-effective medical care possible to our local residents. However, a well informed public is, in our opinion, a healthier public. And any time that we can help bring down the cost of health care by saving a potentially unnecessary visit to the doctor’s office, urgent care or emergency room, so much the better.
