Rosacea is an condition that primarily affects fair-skinned individuals, generally between the ages of 30 to 60. It appears as pimples, pus-filled bumps, redness and/or small blood vessels of the nose, cheeks, chin and/or forehead. Sometimes the eyelids and eyes are affected. The cause of rosacea is poorly understood, but there are certain triggers that make the condition worse. These include hot beverages, sunlight exposure, spicy foods, stress, alcohol, exercise and hot or cold temperature extremes. Although there is no cure, the condition can be controlled by avoiding the above triggers as much as possible and by using certain oral and topical antibiotics. Laser therapy can be used to remove any large, unsightly blood vessels…..Richard R Samuel, MD Family Practice and Urgent Care Hayden, ID USA
