Superglue repair of a laceration

March 22, 2012

Superglue can be used to seal small, shallow lacerations, usually on the arms, hands, legs and trunk. The first thing to do is to make sure that there are no embedded foreign bodies. Secondly, irrigate the wound out thoroughly with clean tap water. The wound in this video appears too deep to safely use superglue. If the laceration went down to the joint line as mentioned, it is at high risk of getting infected…..Richard R Samuel, MD Family Practice and Urgent Care Hayden, ID USA
