Alpha Hair Reduction

To prepare for your Alpha Laser Hair Reduction session, please avoid waxing, plucking, threading, or depilatory creams on the treatment area for at least 3–4 weeks beforehand, as the laser targets the hair follicle at the root. Shaving is allowed—and recommended—the day before or the morning of your appointment so the hair is short at the surface.

Limit sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners on the area for at least 2 weeks before treatment, and let us know if you are taking any photosensitizing medications, have a history of pigment changes or melasma, or have recently used antibiotics or acne medications such as isotretinoin. On the day of your visit, arrive with clean skin free of lotions, oils, perfumes, or deodorant on the treatment area. We will review your medical history, examine your skin and hair type, and customize your treatment settings for both safety and optimal results.

The procedure begins with cleansing the treatment area and applying a cooling gel to protect your skin and enhance comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild warmth or light tingling—far more comfortable than traditional laser hair removal.

Treatment times vary depending on the area, ranging from just a few minutes for the upper lip to 30–45 minutes for larger areas like the legs or back. There’s no downtime, and you can resume normal activities immediately, but DO stay out of the sun (most people prefer to do this in the winter months). Over a series of typically 8 sessions, hair growth becomes finer, lighter, and significantly reduced—leaving your skin soft, smooth, and effortlessly maintained.

After Alpha Laser Hair Reduction, you may experience mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling around the hair follicles that typically resolves within a few hours to a day. The treated hairs will not disappear immediately; instead, they gradually shed over 1–3 weeks as the follicles release the hair. During this time, the skin may feel slightly sensitive, but there is no required downtime and you can return to normal activities right away.

Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and vigorous exercise for 24 hours, as well as not waxing or plucking between sessions. Shaving is permitted if needed. Strict sun protection is essential—daily broad-spectrum sunscreen and avoidance of tanning—to reduce the risk of pigment changes and to protect your results.

For best outcomes, a series of about 8 treatments is needed to target hair in different growth cycles. With each session, you can expect hair to become finer, lighter, and significantly reduced, leaving the treated areas smoother, easier to maintain, and more comfortably hair-free over time.
